ZDNET also delivers a wide assortment of many programs to download. As with Jumbo.com the descriptions are complete. The only thing that may frustrate you is the many choices of one subject. Wow! For games there is nowhere else to go. The reviews on every game under the sun are so detailed you will never again buy a game that you thought would be great and then be disappointed. The demos are so fun to download and play my wife gets to be a computer widow when I download the latest. If you go here try out the 3D pool table demos (my favorite) as well as all the action, arcade, simulation, adventure, sports games and more. Lara Croft, NASCAR, Football...it's all here!

Besides fun things to do for kids right on the site the shareware and freeware for kids whether educational or fun & games will keep your kids grades up and busy playing for hours. It's all here from math, English, science, learn foreign languages or just play Sonic Hedgehog demos. My son loves this site. Programs for any age child (adults too).

Softseek.com is my favorite as of now. It tells you right up front if the program is freeware, shareware or time limited. And offers other links to the publisher of the program for related downloads. Below are some of my favorite Free programs that you can find through Softseek.com or most Shareware sites are:
Turbonotes: a small program that all who try it love it. You know those little yellow Post it note pads? Well this is the same thing. Only it pops up on your screen whenever you want one. Keep one or many. Add, save, delete, edit or print them! I keep so many notes on them I would be so disorganized without them. My desk is so much neater now. I use them for little help notes I make myself when learning new programs. Things to do's and keep track of phone numbers and messages........it's endless.
Mediaface II : If you have a CD writable drive you will love this FREE program. It is made by Neato, maker of CD label and Jewel Case sleeves. You do have to register, but that is free. They then e-mail you a "Key"[passcode] to insert in your program and it is yours! It makes wonderful CD labels!
Eprompter: Another web email checker, but this one is so simple to use and fast. I use it too along with Anymail. I like Eprompter for fast convienance.
Sonic Mail: allows you to use your microphone and send voice emails to anyone. Even if they do not have Sonic mail they can play your email. It will also send back a receipt telling you when the other person opened your voice mail and heard you! You can import your addressbook into it. Sometimes a voice is so much better than typed words. I use it when I want to explain something to someone and quick hellos.
Read Please 2000:For lengthy emails or any text I use this great program. Cut and paste the email and place it into Read Please and a computer (very natural sounding) voice reads you the email right on your computer as you lay back and close your eyes and listen!
Napster is something every person should not be without. Yes, there is a lot of debating if it is ethical or not to download free music. I am not here to put an opinion in either way. Until the courts decide it is out there so you be the judge. If you do not like Napster you can go to a shareware site and in the search box type in file transfer and you will see many programs like Napster. While Napster will download you free MP3s there are many programs that will do the same and go one step better and download to you photos and video and even computer programs! All from other members hard drives! File sharing is here to stay.
